Hudson serial number

Where are the serial numbers found on the Hudsons apart from the engine?
I am trying to identify a '38 Terraplane coupe [no engine]. Thanks. Paul.

My 36 has the ID plate on the front of the firewall on the left. My 39 has the ID plate on the passenger front door post. Gotta be one or the other.

Failing this, you could look for a stamped-in number in the following places:

1). Car frame, passenger (right) side, just aft of where the axle passes under this. It's either on the outside, or top, of the frame -- I forget. You may need to wire-brush the surface rust off, in order to see it.

2). Rear axle housing between the ''pumpkin'' and the brake backing plate, on the passenger's side. The stamped number is on the top facing the underside of the car, as I recall. Again, bring your wire brush.
