Looks like Bill is having all the fun ~ if he keeps up this pace there won't be any Hudsons left around for the rest of us to fix up!

I saw Bill's new pickup in person today, the pictures while well taken do not do the truck justice. That is one fine ride. I may have to sell the Ford Diesel and start talking to Bill about what it will take to separate him from that truck.

Very nicely done, but what about the engine, won't a H8 fit inside that massive bonnet?

As a matter of fact (he sez!!) A Hudson 8 WILL fit in there very nicely - as will a 308!!! As I recall they are pretty near bolt ins. And a lot of trucks, especially the 46/47 era were so fitted. While it would do the job the 3x5 was a tad anemic for heavy hauling.
Back in the bad old days of Hudson domination on the stock car tracks more than one local "left turn only" guy, who towed his Hudson to the local track to race it, did so with a Hudson pickup with a 308 under the hood of the truck. The idea was if they destroyed the engine in the race car they could swap out engines and keep on racing. :D
Keep on truckin'.
