My friend picked up a continental kit from a '55 Hudson the other day and wants to put it on his '52 Hollywood hardtop. We know the sheet metal that extends from the body to the bumper is not the same, and the bumpers are different also. But we can make some sheet metal pieces and extend bumper brackets to fit the car. Does anyone have any good photos of a '52 with a continental kit mounted. The more information we can get, the more accurate we can make ours. The car will never be 100% original, or a 100 point car, but it will be really nice when we finish. And the continental kit will only add to the appearance.

There were no factory continental kits on Hudsons before 1955 (and then only because it "became" a Nash), so just make it so it looks right. I have a '48 with a continental kit fabricated by the builder in the early '50's- it uses a Lincoln bumper, and looks fine. Someday, I'll learn to post pics. Or if you give me your email address I'll email you a picture.

Go to my webpage under cars and scroll down to 1951 convertible. You will see how I modified a 1954 continental kit to fit the 1951 convertible I sold to Senator Howard Baker. I used original 1954 framework and made pans to fit. http://home.earthlink.net/~dsollon/public.htm/ourcars.htm
FYI, 1955 continental framework is completely different.

From Bill and Dave's submissions, it appears there was a '54 continental kit- I defer to them- my mistake.

Page 90 of Lanworth's Hudson 1946-1957 book shows a factory photo of a 54 Hornet Coupe with a continental kit. Was available for Wasp, too.

My Dad bought a Continental Kit off of a '54 Hollywood from Bud & Allan Lewis up in Virginia back in 1991, restored it and put it on our '54 Hollywood:

You're welcome. I didn't think it was for sale. I'll keep an eye out for it.
