49 Throw Out Bearing Seal Install

Has anyone ever replaced the SEAL on the throw out bearing? If so, what is required to get the bearing apart to replace? My bearing is fine, seal is ripped.

Dennis , Get a piece of bar stock or pipe as close to the diameter of the hole in the throwout bearing as you can. Place the end of the bar stock against the bearing and tap the other end of the bar stock on a firm surface such as an anvil or a concrete slab. Keep tapping until you seperate the bearing from the collar and seal. Remove the seal and replace onto collar. Place collar inside bearing opening side for collar, reversing what you just did to remove it. Put into vise and slowly and evenly compress bearing onto collar with new seal. Happy motoring.
