Once again there will be several activities of interest to Hudsonites in and in a future message, but for right now we need to arrange some help for the Hudson recruitment / hospitality booth at the show. We need help for the period from Wed. Oct. 10 through Sat. Oct. 13.
Staffing the booth -- for 2 or 3 hours -- is a great way to meet fellow Hudson lovers from (literally!) around the world. And it's a great way to ''talk up'' Hudsons to potential enthusiasts and win the Club new members. It's especially great for older Hudsonites who have enjoyed walking the flea market over the years, but who now find this to be increasingly difficult and tiresome. Now, they can have a ringside seat in the middle of the whole thing, and "Hershey comes to them". An occasional swing around the swap meet can be followed with R & R at the booth -- what an ideal situation. We can often provide transportation (in a Hudson, no less) right to the booth in the morning, and back to the motel in the evening. Such a deal!
And, if you have a really nice Hudson you'd be willing to show off, we'd like you to park it next to the booth to attract the curious. You get a pass (to drive into the swap meet), so this is not only a great way to get right where you're going, but to save parking fees as well! We'd like to display a different Hudson every day of the show. We'd give preference to unique Hudsons, particular Hudsons that haven't yet been displayed, and people who've never displayed their Hudsons before.
Finally, if you live anywhere near Dillsburg, Pa. and have a truck set up for towing, we need to get the trailer from its present resting spot, to Hershey, and back home again after the car show. If you can volunteer to drive it in either direction, we can offer some financial assistance to at least help pay for the gas you expend!
For further information or to volunteer, please contact me at HETdetailed@verizon.net (DROP THE HET before mailing, please!). Thank you.
