OD wiring last time around????

Okay you OD wiring experts.... got one more....

my car had Supermatic drive... but no longer does. So My govenor (thing on the right rear of the trans has the 4 prong connector and the one bullet terminal. I want to make sure this is right, I only wire the bullet terminal, the other connectors (prongs) are not used?

also, the bullet terminal on the govenor gets wired to the two terminal connector at the left side of the trans, where one accepts a larger diameter bullet terminal than the other.... Which one, the larger diameter or smaller, goes to the govenor, and the remainder, is the one that goes to the kickdown, right?

and finally, there is a weird switch or something on the left side, right behind and above the solenoid, that has a button on it, as well as what looks like it might accept a wire terminal (bullet) is this used for anything on a regular OD car, or was this for supermatic drive?

heck, as you can see, we are getting close now!!!!!!! :D

EDIT: one more, 6 and 4 on the solenoid, I assume 4 is the larger screw, and 6 is the smaller, right?

PS, as a benefit, I will be taking several pictures of the completed wiring, and posting them online, forever, so the next person that comes along, will have an easier time, and can learn from my experience.

Kid,you are correct on the bullet at the governor,all others pertain to theHDM and are not used.The wire from the gov.to the switch[reverse lock-out switch]located at the back,drivers side of trans.is just a open/close type switch.This is activated[open]when reverse is selected.It goes open because you do not want it to go into reverse overdrive,which it theroratically can do if you are going that fast in reverse with the lever pushed in and achieve a speed fast enough for the governor to complete ground and let the overdrive engage.I by-pass these switches alot of the time because they are bad[open]regardless of it's position.The very BEST and easiest way to resolve any issue there is to make sure the cable is pulled out[dis-engaged]before backing up.Pulling this out serves two purposes.If anyone has trouble with the shifter falling out of gear when reverse is selected and with the lever[cable]pushed in,it is because the spring that is in the overdrive is stronger than the detent spring in the trans.,so it pushes it out of gear.I'm sure if your car is equipped with a nice fresh detent spring in the trans.,and all the shift linkage from top to bottom is perfectly tight it may not be a problem-Most Aren't-simply pull the cable out when backing up!! and lastly the switch on the drivers side of the trans.was used for the HDM for shift rail postition .Those usually leak so while it is easy to get to,you should go to the auto supply and get a[I think 9/16's dish plug and properly cover the hole.Good luck:)

The solenoid terminals have their connection number stamped into the metal case. You may have to wire brush them off, but you should be able to read them.
