I love this expression, which I first read on this forum. For example:
I don't have cable or a dish, so when my neighbor took down a cool low-profile antenna the previous owner had left on his house, he gave it to me. Seemed like a good opportunity to get rid of the rabbit ears!
I installed the antenna, it worked fine.
I had a join in the co-ax leading to one TV, and I didn't put the connector on tight enough, so it pulled apart in the wind.
While I was up fixing it, I turned the antenna around to see if it would improve reception on channel 4.
During that exercise, I broke one of the leads on the co-ax to 2-wire converter.
I jury rigged it, and reception on all channels on both TV's was perfect.
I bought a new co-ax to 2-wire converter at Radio Shack and replaced the one I'd jury rigged. The new one worked about half as well.
I replaced the connectors on the old converter and swapped it back this morning.
Reception is perfect.
Hey! At least I didn't get struck by lightning!:D
