I have a 1955 custom Hudson that is equipped with a 320 Packard V-8.
It ran pretty good but was chocking down on take off and finally it completely quit on me. But would start back up and would drive about a mile before it would stop again.
I have put plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, points, condenser, checked timing, checked compression it is 95 to 120. Pulled the carburator, cleaned, adjusted, even hooked a container of fuel above engine and let it gravity flow to carburator. Fuel output from the fuel pump to a open container has a good flow.
But now the engine has a surge to it just like someone is pumping the foot feed.
Does anyone have any ideas? Any input would be greatly appreciated!
