54 308 Engine Paint - HELP

I was given the following number for the engine paint for my engine;
Duplicolor DE 1605 Ford Red

My local Ford dealer says he has no way of cross- referencing that Duplicolor number to Ford paint. Can anyone help?

If you will simply go to the Dupli-Color webpage at http://www.duplicolor.com/products/engine.html , you will discover that the DE-1605 is still sold. Dupli-Color is one of many paint companies; your local Ford dealer would not necessarily have it, merely because it's a "Ford Red".

A Falcon website reveals that the proper color for valve covers and air breather for 60-65 Ford Falcon is:
Red-Orange, Dupli-Color DE-1605, or Martin Seynour 7892

All this I discovered, by simply typing "Duplicolor DE 1605 Ford Red" into Google. By using a search engine you can get answers like this, and in a very short time!

I bought mine at Advanced Discount Auto Parts Store here in Florida. Most Auto parts stores carry Dulplicolor paints in rattle cans.

Go to Wal-Mart. In the auto dept. find the VHT Disc Brake Caliper paint. Red is a very good match. It is what I used on the engine in my Avitar. Actually it more red in person......

I painted my 54 Dupli color Ford red. It is a stock item at Kragen,Pep Boys etc. When I started stripping my block and got down to the original color the Ford red was really close.
