If anyone knows about the 69 Firebirds please assist me in a decision. One is available to purchase for 35000.00 in mint condition. Was a frame off restoration.
It is gorgious but it is in the color white ( not one of my favorites) and it's a correct motor, but nit the original engine.
Is such a bird worth this price?

A car is worth whatever someone will pay for it.
You may want to do more research to see what other like vehicles have sold for.

Hi,
That is a lot of money for a bird without the original engine. Did the owner let you know where the motor was or what had happened to it. I would want to know what the history of this car was, and the current owner should be able to shed the light on it. Especially if they are asking those sort of prices! Let me know.
thanks

Is the car something you have access to? I mean if it is sight unseen or an ad on eBay, I would be leary of it.
And I agree with the others, 35K is a lot for a car that does not have the OE motor. But if the numbers are in the correct circa, then it MIGHT be within the ballpark. Like one said it is worth what you will pay.
On the other hand, do you have any good freinds who know about these things? A second opinion from someone who can go look at the car with you is what I would recommend. That way you are not looking at with LOVE clouding your eyes.

Thank you for all your replys. Your opinions are very helpful and reflect my thoughts concerning the engine as well. I forgot the website I used to get a value on the car but you all know the name..perhaps it was Edmunds. Anyway, they place the car in the range of 32000 to 36000 in the condition its in. I could not find the production numbers for that year which is really 68 not the 69 I originally posted here.
The dealer took a detailed video of the entire car and underneath as well. The car virtually all new. The engine is a date correct 350 but I don't know much more about it.
Its alot of money I know.
I will make a decision soon on the Bird and will let you know.
All thoughts and opinions are very welcome.
Thank you,
Frank:)
