I have a 350 small block with a holley 4brl carb, it has been in storage for quite a while. The former owner had someone starting it up every now and then, but I can not say for sure. I tuned it up and start it up every week or so. My problem is that it never seems to be able to start after sitting a week or so without putting gas into the carb. I can see that gas is getting to the carb when pumped and the car starts consecutively after the initial start up. Do I need to rebuild the carb?

Will the car start if you crank it a couple of times?

It sounds to me as though the carb's gas is either draining or drying up during the disused times.

As long as it runs and starts well after you get it started, I wouldn't worry about it.
