Can You Identify This Mascot For Me Please?

Hi, I've come across this mascot but can't find it on the web. My partner seems to remember that his father got it from a car when he was a boy and that it was possibly a Hunter Terraplane? It's about 5-6" high and 7-8" across and is of a big bird, eagle / griffin? Maybe there's a car manufacturer who used these birds as it's trademark? Here's hoping someone can help....thanks. Di.

Its not a factory mascot from any mark that I have run across. Its not a radiator cap, so its late 30's or newer. It could be an aftermarket accessory casting, but it really does not look like its automotive. I have seen thousand of mascots, this item does not really reflect a hood mascot appearance. Maybe a hearth piece or a bird bath. It could have been on a car, but not as a factory mascot.

I have the first one and I did not find your mascot in that one.
