Here are some home movies taken at the time Amelia Earhart christened the new '32 Terraplane at the factory. These are from a home archives; evidently they were shot by the father of the person who posted them on YouTube. The father was evidently a PR man, though it's not clear whether or not he worked for Hudson. I'm trying to contact the person who posted them (but having trouble signing up for YouTube in order to do so!)

There do exist some sound movies of the christening and drive-away, which many have seen, but this is not one of them. The H-E-T Club's own Bill Bade attended this as a young man, sent there by a local dealer who employed Bill to drive a Terraplane back to New York State for him. Sadly, Bill passed away a year or so ago, but he enthralled many of us over the years with his story about the experience.
