i cant get my wheels off my 68 corvette i have a lug nut with a lock pattern 1 lug nut per wheel and i lost the other end of the lug nut to take off the wheel any ideas on how to get the wheels off

There are two things that you can do.

1. Take your car to either a dealership or a good tire store. Many of the mechanics will have a special tool that will help to get these off and I'm sure for a small fee (maybe free, depending on the organization) they can get them off.

2. If you have an air compressor and an air chisel gun, you could try to catch the end of the lug nut and work it loose.

If your not concerned with damageing the finish of the nut a stud puller will take it off, most full time mechs will have one. Or if your going to replace it you can just grind the sides down a couple places and chisel it off.

I agree, most tire shops have some sort of air wrench attachment that will get off boogered up lug nuts. I had that happen about 20 years ago and I think they used an oversized hex and leaned in on it.
