I was browsing the around the site link you gave and found this one of a Barris 1950 Hudson - I wonder if this is still alive somewhere?

I hate to say it, but that is my cup of tea. I would love to build this car were it not for the two projects I am currently working on. I could really love a car like this,.,,,

The Mercurys from the same era 49-50, are such a big rage , dont think they have a thing on a Hudson custom . that Hudson is a great looking car , its a bit radical for my taste though
