I have seen several posts over the years about a Dodge or Honda radiator fiting a 51 and newer Stepdown. What I haven't seen is the actual part number or year and model that was used nor any pictures or instructions on how to exactly modify it to fit. Can anyone help?

I have installed a Honda Passport (isuzu rodeo) radiator in my 51 Hornet. I think it was from a 1995, but I don't think they changed much over the years. I got it from a junk yard for about $70. It seems to cool good, plus it is aluminum. The only issue that may arise is that the lowest pressure cap I could find is rated at 11lbs. No problems yet though.
To install, I cut the side brackets off of my Hudson radiator, and bolted to new radiator, and then put it in. The top tank of the Honda radiator is a little short, so watch your fingers when the car is running! If you want pictures of it installed, I could get you some tomorrow.

OK here is that I found on replacement radiators for Stepdowns.

The Dodge radiator is from a 1971 - 1978 pickup or van with V8.

Parts Numbers: Spectra Premium CU889 or NAPA NR 889

There are about four different radiators for these Dodges. All are the same size. The one listed is a medium priced brass 3-row radiator.

Here is the application for a CU889.

The Honda radiator is from a 1993 - 1997 Passport with V6 or Isuzu 1993 - 1997 Rodeo with V6 or Isuzu 1999 - 2001 Vehicross with V6.

Parts Numbers: Spectra Premium CU1571 or NAPA NR 2749

I installed the dodge radiator in my '53 super wasp and it went in without a hitch. It has a c shaped flange on either end. It slid right in place and the only modification required was enlarging the mounting hole on the flange. I did have to go back to get special hoses. Just took measurements and they let me walk behind the counter with a tape and select my own.
