Hey guys, Im new to this site and just wanted to introduce myself.

My name is Jake and I'm 21 and I am coming to the site for help and general information. I have some experience with cars but mostly modern cars and have never rebuilt a car completely, only doing mostly cosmetic fixes and shell stuff on the older ones.

I have just obtained a 65, 4 door impala from a friend of mine. Now, this car means allot to me because it was one of my best friends, older brothers car and i have allot of good memories of it. About 12 years ago the car threw a rod and has been sitting on two wheels with nothing under the hood.

So this is basicly my situation and what im here for and hope that I can offer help to others who i could help and get help from you guys sense this is my first big project when it comes to fixing a car up.

Welcome to the group, Jake!

If you intend to hold onto this car for some time, you may want to consider joining a club devoted to it (I know there are several Chevrolet clubs, some for older, some for newer, and some for various models). A club will be a great clearinghouse for information and parts, and you'll tap into a large network of fellow enthusiasts, some of whom may even live near you. (Hint-hint! Offer 'em a six pack and maybe they'll come over and lend a hand!)
