How interesting & unusual that there are two '39 model 92s on eBay right now, a newly listed brougham & my old conv.
If you're not familiar with them the model 92 was placed between the 112 series & the Country Club, which was avail. with either the "splasher 6" 212 cube engine or an 8. If you look at the brougham, which seems to be nicely original, take a look at the dash photo & if you're familiar with the '39s, you can see the differences.
The 92 is bigger & has a longer w.b. than the 112, but smaller & shorter than the CC series & since you could get a CC for only a few $ more seemingly very few of them sold, ergo, quite rare almost 70 years later.

I should also add that the 112 had the small 175 cu. in. engine & the model 92, "Super Six" series, used the larger 212 engine as did the CC6.

I stopped in to a friends shop just south of Provo, Utah this past weekend on the way home from a business trip. He had recently purchased a very nice, all original, 39 Country Club four door sedan with a ton of extras. The car is very nice, one of those cars you cannot decide if you should restore it or just drive it the way it is. The car has just over 50 k on it and he got it for a lot less than I have seen a 39 priced at in the last few years. It is a sweet car and it is great to see an all original car that is looking good.:):)

You can be restored many times, but you're only original once.

Is it a Country Club 8 or 6?

Brownie - it's a 6, look at the engine photo.
It says it's loaded but isn't - no radio, clock, or banjo steering wheel for instance, BUT still a very nice car!

OK, Mixed message... The one that I saw in Utah was an 8. It did have a very interesting banjo wheel and a lot of other options. I was baffeled that it did not have a radio. I would have thought if you were buying the high end car, no less a Country Club, a radio would have been a natural? Just goes to show.
