51 gas sending unit float

51 Pacemaker , Got all that pretty green stuff out, soldered the broken internal ground strap, unit working, now I need a float, mines TOOO far gone to fix. Anyone know what to get ? Thanks BUD

Just go to any Ford dealers parts department and ask for an early Ford gas tank sending unit float. Walt.

i KNOW IT MIGHT SEEM STRANGE BUT I USE A CORK ON MINE AND IT LASTED LONGER THAN THE ORIGINAL FLOAT.

10-4 on the Chinese junk. Did you hear that Chrysler, as if they're not having enough trouble, is having a Chinese company make motor mounts for their vehicles? Yikes! :eek:

Contact Carpenter Industries, 1-800-476-9653. They handle early Ford parts and can match you up with the correct sending unit float for your Hudson. I ordered the complete sending unit for my car and it matched up perfectly with the original.

OK guys , I went to the parts store and asked if they had a DIPSTICK and they said he was on vacation, could BUBBA help ? So I put that Fix Or Repair Daily part in it and all is well, cost me $5.78 BUD

Hey Bud! I have a crosley sending unit you can have! It won't use as much gas, but you will have to slow down so it will read right!! LOL!!
