I need to replace the front brake drums in my '46 Coupe. Is there a new manufactured drum that will substitute?

Thanks,

Jim Kilday

Hi Bill - Are you sure? I was under the impression that the difference depended on the engine, with those cars having a Hudson 8 engine getting larger brakes (and a bigger clutch).

- And, of course pickup trucks have the larger brakes and clutch as well...

I'm probably wrong (as usual) - After all, you're 'The Man' to go to in the Hudson community... :D

I have some new old stock drums here part number 166295, but would be expensive to ship I would imagine.I'm In Australia. Would you like a holiday, come pick them up, take them back as cabin luggage.

The pickups should have 11 x 1.75 inch brakes same as the Commadore 8. You can substitute stepdown 11x 2 1/4 if you change the backing plate, swap the bearings around and use a double washer behind the nut.
