:)Got up early Saturday morning to take the '49 Hudson to Carson City to participate in the Nevada Day Parade. Met up with four other member of our chapter. In all five Hudsons to dazzel the crowd.there was the following, '53 Hornet coupe,'53 Hornet convertible. '49 super sedan, '39 sedan, upgraded mechanically, and a cool '50 Pacemaker that has been heavily nodified. The pacemaker was a parts car for awhile but was saved. Hopefully we can get some pictures in the WTN. On the parade route it began raining, the wind blew and it was a bit cokd. Many people made positive comments about our cars, children saying "theres Doc Hudson". Teenagers and young adults could be heard remarking that Hudsons were neat okd cars. All the cars got through the parade fine, lots of idling, no overheating, wipers, are another story. After the parade, we had a great meal at a chinese reataurant, while dining, a gentleman came in and asked who owned the Hudsons, we all raised our hands, he replied that he had been born in the backseat of a '49 Hudson. That made me think, how mwny people came about in the back seat of a Hudson, but thats another story. The good news is that we won second place in the antique car category. Hudsons were made to be driven and enjoyed regardless of the weather or time of the year. Hope I did not bore anyone. Maby next year we can get a few more Hudsons in the Parade and get first place. Thanks, Arnie M.
