1951 Hudson Brogham

Almost purchased another Hudson, I was high bidder of car located in North Las Vegas however bid didn't meet seller's reserve, win some and lose some. Little puzzling, last time this car was on eBay auction the high bid was $3,750.- which was more than I was willing to bid...I'll just have to keep working on finishing my '52 coupe.

Looks like interior was done. It also has the 1952 Hornet/ Commodore imitation mother of pearl speedo and clock faces. Pacemaker brougham. Still needs lots to be done.

Alex, your right I'm just looking forward to driving my coupe, but one of my twins could have drove the other? The '51 was located very close to where I live, although I didn't see or check out the car my high bid price was reasonable and if I won auction was easy to pick up without DAS type transporter to bring where I would leave in storeage until I made up my mind to what I would do with car. I am sure the owner will keep
'51 and offer car at a later date...Also surprised the '53 Hornet sedan presently offered on eBay isn't getting too much supporting bids?

On another note, scheduled to complete my rear back support of rear seats next week, however upholstery shop lost center piece hardware that allows center section to go and down...I would imagine same hardware used for sedan and coupe another member has a possible replacement part; would a member post a picture of center section back rest in both up and down positions?

Other than red checkerboard, if you want to see same checkerboard in blue go page four '52 Hornet restoration where I posted some pictures of interior I had installed in my car I purchased from Ruby Bennett. If you want name and address of material house request it from Ken, he was as always the helpful member I received information from and purchased great; not identical blue checkerboard material.

It's been more than three years since I got rid of my Black Beauty Hudson Hornet, when I sold it, I included entire folder with all the receipts of parts, larbor & material, with addresses etc. However in some of my files I found the following information; Peachtree Solid Fabric $100.00 & Duralee Checker Board Fabric $350.00 I believe if you contact Ken who has red chckerboard interior Hornet he'll be happy to give you address and for the record that's who (Ken) I originally obtained material information support, probably one of the best recommendations I received..

Very close match, hard to discern from original except for the most astute. Don't count on finding original, Ryan. It would be a life pursuit, I think. Even if you did find some, dry rot will be present and show it's face very soon. If you had a car that was in a museum, and the seat was never used, o.k. Anything you are going to drive, and put stress on the old material by sitting on it, 50 year old cloth will tear very easily. Even low-mileage examples were not often AC/Heat controlled cars except for the ones that have been in museums for decades.

Walt put some in his coupe, I'm sure he would send you a picture, if requested.
