Is there supposed to be a rubber gasket between the fender and headlight stand on a 36 Terraplane, and if so does anyone make one? I have seen gaskets for 37 on Ebay but not 36.

As far as I know (and have been told), there was not a gasket on the '36, I made one with some cork gasket material, but it wasn't very successful. The '37 headlight gasket won't fit. You can buy a '36T taillight gasket off of ebay that works great.

Hey Chris,
I dont, and as far as I know didnt, have any gaskets on my 36T either. It was a very complete original car when I got it.

Richard-

Cork tends to work better when there's a "channel" to help it hold it's shape. Also, water and cork don't mix real well over time. Rubber would be a better choice, but I also believe they didn't originally have a gasket at all.

According to the parts book they didn't put a gasket under the headlight support casting 'til '37.
