I saw a while back a post on the now defunct AOL Hometown about improving the cooling of a 308 based, apparently, on improvements made on the 1956 block. Can anyone confirm and describe the cooling improvements of the '56 block? I believe a provision was made to get more cool water to the rear of the engine.

From my experience; years ago I purchased a car from Rudy Bennett that he build one of the best 308 engines I ever owned and living in Las Vegas didn't have over heating problems...See picture of engine with small yellow tag on radiator hose which besides dashboard or othe guages at higher engine heat will change markings; happy to say the markings on tag never increased; I am not qualified to address concerns, however if you contact Rudy, I am sure he'll give you proper explanation.
