According the the fabulous calendar provided with our recent WTN, today is the 50th anniversary of the death of my name sake, Frank Spring. But my research shows me that it was August 8, 1959 so need to send cards or letters yet.

Unfortunately, February 3rd marks the 50th Anniversary of the Clearlake, Iowa plane crash that took the lives of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper. I would imagine remembering the Day the Music Died might affect people more than the loss of your "namesake."
Nothing personal. :)

Sarah, I think Franks post was done with tongue in cheek. Of course maybe now he'll want to send a card to music for it's loss.

Sarah, I thought us Jet owners had to stick together, but still I am sorry for your loss. When February 3 gets here you can have your time in the spotlight. I am sure there is a forum for that. (tongue in cheek)
Did you know Frank Spring went down in a plane crash in 1933 on his way back to Detroit from the Indianapolis 500 Race? Yes, he was also a pilot. He had an executive of Grahm Paige with him in the plane. The plane went down about 15 mile northeast of Ft Wayne, Indiana, or about 3 mile from where I currently live. The plane went down in a marshy field and they walked away. Now between 1933and 1954 Frank Spring was responsible for designing some pretty special cars.
Even your Jet. Let us try to be a little more reverant. (tongue in cheek)

I got it, that's why I threw in "Nothing Personal," as in "Woe is me - wink, wink." :o
...Perhaps I should go ahead and make a reverant greeting card to make amends. :)
