Stepdown Hinges

I was doing a simple adjustment (hinge bolts on the door side) with the drivers door on my '50 Pacemaker coupe when I realized I had a hinge problem. They're shot. Now I know there are car specific hinge repair kits (inserts with a new pin) and wanted to know if there are any for stepdowns or is there kit for a newer car (non-Hudson-sixties? seventies?) that might share the same size pins and inserts of a Hudson? Don't know how many good door hinges are still out there.

There's not a "kit" that I know of, but hinge pins are re-buildable by reaming out the barrels and turning new pins.

Hinges are available, also, but requires some digging or calling some of the known Hudson vendors. Try Bill Albright or Dave Kostansek for replacement hinges. they'll be used, but probably much better shape than the ones you now have.
