Hi guys!
I am new at this forum and would appreciate some help from you.
I have a 1958 Cadillac Sedan Deville Series62 extended deck.
When i turn the low beam lights on they shut down after approx. 15 seconds and turns on again after 2-3 seconds. I have checked the realys and seem to work and they are not getting warm/hot. But the power relay is clicking when the lights shut down.
Hope you can bare with my english writing since I live in Sweden and english is not my first language. :)
Cheers

Ismo, You've got a short. Somewhere there is a
bare wire grounding out and the relay is causing the headlights to shut off until the resistance dies down. Check your wiring.

I found the problem.:)
It is in the light switch. Its a short in it and i will dismount it tomorrow.
Hopefully i can repair it.
These old cars has that opportunity to restore and for that i am glad.
A digital camera and me to be careful is the two things needed.
Otherwise i have to find a new lightswitch with foglight connectors.
However, what do you guys think about my Caddy?
Feel fre to visit my homepage.

The Caddy is great. I had the chance a few years back to get one like that and didn't. Now I am sorry for that. I love those cars.
The DelRay is a great one also. Hope to see some pictures soon of that. I had one abck in the mid 60's, put a 409 in it and raced everyone from school.
Good luck with them both.

Hi again!
I have now checked the light switch and there were som rust and such.
I have cleaned it and couldnt find anything wrong with it.
A new question!
Is the headlight relay supposed to BUZZ all the time?
Mine is buzzing. Is it possible that my headlight relay is shorting my headlights?

Sounds like maybe there is a lose or poor connection.
Have you checked the dimmer switch? They have a tendency to corrode or go bad.

I must say THANKS to all of you who helped me!
At last i found the problem.
It was the light switch on the dash.
I found a light switch on a swapmeet here in sweden and assembled it and now it works just fine.
Thanks again. This is a great forum!
