There's a rebuilt '48-'52 version available here just north of Atlanta. Price about $2800, I believe. e-mail me directoly at hetpwald@mindspring.com (remove the "het" first).

If you want to a rebuildable core, I have a boat anchor from a '48 Super 8 that is locked up. It's missing the electrical components as I have them on my six cylinder or as spares. Email me at HETjasper3@charter.net if you're interested. I'm in Hickory, NC.

My uncle has the engine from a '51 C8. I believe it has never been rebuilt so is on standard bore. The manifolds are missing but I think it is otherwise complete. He is thinking in the range of $500 or so. We are in Baltimore but there is some chance he will be going to Florida in April; if he drives his truck he would consider delivering it, probably for an extra fee.
