I need a little guidance on how to lubricate the speedometer cable on my 1953 Pontiac sedan. The shop manual says to lubricate the lower half and the lube will make its way up. Any hints on what to disconnect and what to lube would be very appreciated. Thanks.

I always unscrewed the cable housing at the back of the speedometer, pulled it down to where I could see it, yanked the flexible out of it, lubed it with a standard speedo cable grease (available at your car parts store), slid it back into the housing, and screwed the housing back into the speedometer.

Thanks Jon, I'll do it like you said.
