I am currently looking at a 1968 mustang convertable. It is orange in color and the owners say the color was custom ordered. I looked up info on it and as far as I can tell the closest color to it would be sunlit gold. Sunlit Gold was an option for Shelbys not convertables. It is in awesome shape inside and out. I'm just wondering about the color thing. My husband thinks it could be worth more if it is a rare or custom ordered color. I currently have a 1966 fastback GT, and I love my car. He basically wants it to take to shows when I go with mine. Orange is not very manly :) , but if it's worth something he can deal with the color. If any of you have any info on the color thing, I'd truly appreciate it. Kristie

I'm waiting on that, she sent me the warranty #s. Yes that would pretty much solve the mystery. Would it help with wondering if there was only a few orange convertables, or if it is special ordered?

I wish I could tell you more but I am stumped, I never heard of those options in the books I have read, but there is a first for everything. I very well think it could be true because the mustangs were such a massed produced car rare factorie add in's have been heard of. Good luck

They want $25,000 for the car. Does this seem like a fair price to you? Like I said the car is in awesome shape inside and out. It sounds like who ever ordered the car, ordered all the bells and whistles. Any advise would be great. I would put a picture on here, but not sure if it's an option.

If you have the money, I would do it, that is going to be a rare car, plus it is loaded with options.

I recently purchased a 68 fastback S code with a 428 cobra jet in it. I don't know alot about mustangs and have a friend restoring it for me. I was, however, trying to find out what the original color is of this car. I have yet to ask him. here is what the tag reads, can anyone help?

I saw the other post, but it said 6U - special order so I figured it was worth asking. I searched on the web to find something to help me decode this but to no avail.

I would really appreciate any help
