This is a ''full-sized'' Hudson 8, not an Essex Terraplane eight, right? I know someone near me who owns one in excellent running condition, I will e-mail him and post the answer here, as soon as he gets back to me.

Are you sure you have the original 1933 eight cyl. engine in there? Reason I ask is, that I was just visiting the guy with the 8-cyl 1932 and 1933 Hudson, and he showed me the engine. Not a bent hose in the engine! They're all straight! Maybe there is something I'm not understanding here!
By the way, have you ever communicated with Bud Lewis, who keeps a roster of the 1933's (Hudsons, as opposed to 1933 Terraplanes, that is!). If he doesn't have your name and a description of the serial number of your car, I know he'd love to add it to his list. You can in turn ask him for a list of the other 15-or-so known 1933 Hudson owners, from him). His e-mail address is HETbandelewis@cs.com (delete the HET before sending).

Jon B,
My hudson 8 has a 119 inch wheel base and my motor has three radiator hoses, one to the top of the radiator , one at the bottum of the radiator to the water pump a little straight hose, and a hose on the back side of the water pump to the waterjacket cover that is just above of the water pump, this curved hose is 13 inches long. I have given Mr.Lewis my registration numbers of my car when I joined the national club.
Thank you Jon B for your help.

Hi, again.
I'm acting as an intermediary here so I hope I convey all the information correctly (in both directions). When I told my friend (with the '33 Hudson Eight) about your set-up, he noted:
''It should be a short hose from the water pump to the bottom of the radiator
and a short hose from the water jacket to the water pump. Three straight
hoses.''
He asked, if yours has a 2-piece cylinder head? (it should).
He asked, does yours have a water manifold that sits on top of the head with a straight hose that runs from that to the top of the radiator?
He also asked if by any chance you had your car at the Madison, Wisconsin national meet a couple years ago?

Hello:
Yes my car has the split heads, yes has the water manifold on top of the split heads, has the short hose to the top manifold, short hose to the bottom of the radiator. The water jacket cover has a 1 1/2" elbo that is at 90 degree angle facing towards the front of the motor. this cover must be a original for the cover bolts were rusted in the block. I can say is the motor is a 254 cubic inch, I rebuilt this myself and ordered all of the parts myself. I hope this helps, I could explain this more on the phone.
