I'm almost afraid to ask for fear of uncontrollable laughter and or maybe the cost in $$ - but, here goes...
49 Stepdown 4 door - door hinges? NOS? Replacements? Good used? Ideas?
I'm going to need both l/r upper and lowers for the front doors at a minimum - all four doors would be preferable.
Please let me know what you think or have used in the past...
Thanks!

Bill Albright will have either used or NOS. Nothing else will work other than Hudson unless you re-engineer the entire system. The guys from Susanville, CA that basically started the Kustom craze with Hudsons about 10 years ago built one with gull wing doors, I have photos somewhere. So, anything can be done with enought patience and imagination.

Hello, You can rebuild the hinges by drilling the old worn holes to a slight oversize and fitting with a bronze bush and using new stainless, or plated hinge pins cut to length. If one of the hinge halves is broken or cracked, you can make a new one from I think it was 1/4 or 5/16" steel plate, drill and countersink the holes for the oval head screws, and for the hinge pin part, use 1/2" to 9/16" or so round steel drilled for the pin and MIG weld to the fabricated plate. I make a jig fixture to hold the peices in alignment for welding. I did this with delightful success for Nash, Hudson and AMC Metropolitan hinges. Made up a batch for Kip Motor, and they sold out. I could easily do the same for Hudson stepdown hinges if there was any demand, but you should look for good used and /or NOS ones first. Kenneth
