Anything's possible. It just depends on how much work and modification you want to do. I could be wrong but I think that the K member from a 1965 or so Dart will interchange. These cars had 271 V8s available from the factory and that would probably be the easiest instead of the modification route.

No problem, this forum is pretty quiet for most makes other than Hudson. That's why I started here. I'm pretty familiar with the MoPar products of the 60's and early 70's but am not an "expert" so I'll help where I can. Good luck!!

Hello fellow Lancer owner. I have a 61 770 two door mYself. I have a power plant suggestion for you. Instead of a v-8 tHink about a hyper-pack. It doesnt require an engine swap and is basically bolt on. You need several basic items, all are reasonably common. First a four barrel intake manifold. Second a small (375cfm-425cfm) four barrel carb. Thirdly, headers and last but not least low resistance exhaust. This set up wasn't factory but could be purchased a the dealersship from late 61 on. You can also have the head milled and increase your compression ratio without much fuss and bother. Good luck and keep your progress posted.

Hey, thanks a lot for the suggestion. Right now, until the car is shipped from my dad to me, ive been working on a VW as well as an audi so ive been busy with those but as soon as i make some good progress on the lancer i'll keep you posted

Just wanted to let you know a few of the owners of Lancers and early Valiant owners are trying to put together a support group for owners in the USA. Take a look at www.6062valiantlancerforum.com or something close to it with a search engine. It might help when it comes to your resto.
