I was born and raised in Chicago and know quite well what the weather will do to a car.
What kind of condition is the car? Has the salt and weather rusted out door panels, quarter panels and underside? It is hard to tell by the pictures.
Where in the Chicagoland area are you?

Hi well the car is in very good condition for its age.there is some minor rust but nothing that has turned into cancer yet.The trans is in wonderful condition engine is well kept isnt very load neither is the exhaust system. The brakes are good too i had them inspected they WILL need some pads very soon though.no rust in the trunk and floors are not rusted.Heat blows hot but no a/c compressor gone out. Um thats about it if you want i can email the pics THEY ARE LARGER so you can really inspect the pictures in full detail.the files are kinda big be aware. but let me know if i can email them too you

THis car is in VERY good condition its not show room but you wouldnt have to far to go to get to it. honestly the car is worth more than the value i posted due to its GOOD condition I really think you would be cheating yourself if you ripped her apart for just her motor.

Why yank the engine and trans out of something like this??? I can never understand that mentality!!! Find an engine and tranny, or a complete but trashed car to get your engine from!!! I've got a 63K mile 383 and tranny out of a 1968 Dodge Monaco, complete from oil pan to aircleaner, with a/c compressor, pulleys, brackets, exhaust manifolds, and all, and will not separate. It's a 2-bbl engine, bone-stock. A grand buys it all. Better that than pull a complete, nice car apart, don't you think????

No, I don't think. For 1, That motor in the 68 probably has 163,000 on it.
#2, I don't need no big a** Mopars. Although I am a Dodge guy. #3 I redo 30's-40's Mopars. #4, I would have to hear it run, and if it does; its only worth $400-$500 bucks in my opinion. Oh, it is just to big. I'll pass on something like that. If u can get hold of an old 50's st.wagon give me a hit............R.V. ;) I don't figure your mental state of mind dude?? Good Luck selling the boat. Happy Halloween....R.V.

The '68 is a real 63K-mile engine. I am the second owner of the car it came from. The car got sideswiped in the tornado two years ago, and that's the ONLY reason the eng/trans came out of it. So, before you go slamming something you have not seen, know the facts, first. Then, you say my engine is "too big" and yet, you want to pull another big block from a perfectly good car. Try being consistent.

The ability to use complete sentences, and not speaking like you're text-messaging someone helps, too.

Good luck on finding a running big-block, complete with everything, for $500.00 these days. A grand is the minimum you're gonna pay, and that's for just an engine! Keep looking, when you can't find another, mine is here.

PS - Call Shadynook Chrysler Salvage in Oklahama City, their number is listed. Ask HIM what a complete big-block set-up will cost you. Then, you'll see what I mean!
