I recently purchased a 1930 Essex 4 door sedan. I am new to this automobile restoration process and could use all the help I could get. The vehicle is in great shape. I got it from the secind owner. It has 44,000 original miles on it. Where do I start??

Joiing the HET club would be a good start for networking if you haven't already done so. The contact the registry keeper for your year of Essex cars to get a list of other owners/experts to assist your project. Also joiin your local chapter might help you. You should be able to connect with the people who have parts. Posting on this bulletin board can get you leads and get your foot in the door. Welcome :)

... Where do I start??
Hi welcome to the forum.
For a start how about telling us more about what your goals for the car are (daily driver, show car, trailer queen...) and what (if any) work you want to perform yourself. We would also love to see many pictures and often!
No offense to the old timers out there (they wouldn't be online anyway using that confounded evil internet :D ) but the Hudson forum users here are on the Cutting Edge of Hudson restoration and rodding and I think represent both disciplines very well!
I look forward to hearing more about your ride.

A 1930 with that low original mileage probably would be best suited for full restoration. The first thing would be to get her running and identify the repairs that may be needed for driveability.
If you're going to rod it, you'll probably get some flak here on the forum but it's a great bunch of guys and as Dan said most here on the forum are on the cutting edge of the restoration and/or modification of Hudson products. Welcome!!

I am also looking for a manual for this year of car. I am probably not going to rod the vehicle as it is in really great condition. All it needs is some TLC.

Email me at geoffclark@xtra.co.nz with your postal address, and I'll photocopy the Owner's Manual and Parts catalog and send to you. This will give you the basic information. There is no workshop manual for this manual that I am aware of.
