 I am looking for the steering wheel for the 50 Chevy Hardtop. There are plenty around, but what I want to know is what color wheel the Hardtop's had and if the horn ring was full or half. For example was the outside black with the inside (inside the trim on the cross and the hub) grey?
 My second question has to do with the gage cluster. I have seen both clusters for the 49 and 50 models. One has a glass face with letters and number under the glass, the other has a plastic face with the letters and numbers embedded in the face. Which models used which cluster, and are the colors (painted areas) all the same or different? I have attached a wheel from Ebay. I think this is the one that should be on the Hardtop, but certainly someone has messed with the color. Thanks in advance for all the help.

50 Hardtop. THe steering wheel hub should be painted the same bark grey metalic that is used on other interior peices. THe stainless peices between the rim and the hub should have this same dark grey in the grooves. THe steering wheel rim is painted the same colour as the dash lower half colour. A light silvery grey. Your dash cluster should have a plasic face with the lettering emeded on the back side. THe lettering should be white the backgound painted the light silver grey of the steering wheel rim. THis also goes for the back panel of your factory deluxe radio. THe center section of the cluster matches the dark grey metalic of the steering wheel hub.

Howdy
The '49 had the brown background in the gagues. The '50 had the grey background. My '50 Delux Fleetside has the Delux steering wheel that is rather unique. It's not the butterfly type that they are re-poping. Saw one on Ebay last week went for $245.
