Hi, I'm a Hudson guy and when I was asked about a Pontiac transmission, I thought I would ask here. Seems this fellow has a 50 eight cylinder standard transmission car and need a transmission. I would guess that other GM cars use the same tranny? Parts interchangeable? Thanks, dave W. Fl :D

Dave, sadly they are different. The Chevy of the same vintage has an enclosed driveline whereas the Pontiac had an open driveline. The Pontiac tranny has an inspection cover on top which helps when looking thru a pile.

Made by Saginaw? Perhaps some internals would interchange? Borg Warner OD trannys from Hudsons had the same internals as the Ford, Studebaker, Kaiser, Jeep etc. Slight differences in the cases. I bought '63 Ford Fairlane OD internals to fit my 49 Hudson.. Cheaper too! Thanks Dave
