On a 1940 Traveler (small plastic steering wheel) how does the horn button come off? The picture in the xerox manual I have indicates there is a screw from the backside, but mine has no such screw. Please help!

I can't speak from experience because I have a 1937 model, but if yours is anything like mine, you press down on the button, turn the button maybe 1/4 turn (right or left...I forget), then lift it out of the wheel. Of course, you might want to disconnect the horns before you do this!

Amen on disconnecting the battery. Yes push in with the palm of your hand, maybe wear a leather glove for good traction, and turn counterclockwise about 1/8 turn and it should lift right off.
