Ran across two Hudsons at an auction in N. Carolina this weekend. 54 Hornet Conv. and a 48 Commodore Sedan. The Conv looks like a really nice car. Would be curious what the sell for. Web site is www.theWWG.com

2 nice looking Hudsons! I would like to have seen more pictures.

The sad thing is that these 2 look like show cars and probably haven't been really driven for a long time...

The 54 convertible had to be pushed across the auction block. It sold for $49,000 plus 8% buyers commission. Paint had bubbles.

No wonder there wasn't more pictures!

The 48 Com 6 went for $18.5 K,paint was just "ok" and the bx frame looked good-best I could see-,nice upholstry, engine looked like it had "little care" and the wiring was rough, new volt reg everything else looked original.Underhood in need of a good detailing,ie:Batt cables corroded.personally would not have given that so did not bid.Dlr from Nev said the 54 had bad hydrolics, windows would not work etc,he told me he came to buy and did not, don't know who did buy either piece

Pricing is always a subjective issue but if "nice" original or welldone original looking interior and solid mechanically, I think it would be a solid buy at 18.5K. It costs an incredible amount of money to get a car to look and run good and look original. Regardless, I love the lines of these cars. It must have simply rocked the automobile industry when it came out. My Dad had just returned to the USA after spending two years in Denmark (47 and 48) as an American doctor working in the Danish hospitals. The first thing he did when he got back was to buy a Maroon 1948 Hudson Commodore. My Dad worked very hard, made good money and always bought the best quality stuff and this was the hot ticket. I sent Sam (editor of WTN) a couple old pictures of my Dad's Hudson - hopefully they will be in the next issue. Niels
