can anyone describe the difference if any on a 32/33 v8 from later ones ie. bolts to main caps? thanks Jim

Sorry I just noticed your question.
As far as my recollection I can say that the main difference is in the # of head studs. Your '32 - '33 has 21 head studs. I am not too sure but I think Ford changed that in '38 to 24 studs & remained 24 till they quit making the flat heads in the early 50's.
The other difference if that the early model has the water pumps in the heads & the later models have the pumps in the block.
I don't remember any changes in the main bearing caps. They may have changed in '49 when they put the distributor on top.

32 had an alluminum oil pan,also alluminum intake

1932 -1936 21 stud
1932 - 1935 last year to use babbit bearings.
1936 first year to have regular bearings.
1936 was last year of 21 stud and had no holes for water pumps on block
