I have been told that this car was never made but a salesman at the company I worked for in 1970 had one. It was a 2 dr salesman's wagon with Nomad badging, no back seat and a 305 and three on the tree. Anybody have a lead on one? Don't need a #1 car just something to have fun with.
Thanks,

You got me on that one! I didn't even know that they made a 2 door wagon in '69. I know a guy thats building a 1950 Chevy woodie type wagon into a Nomad. Gonna call it the "Womad"

I didn't know that Chevy made a 2-door wagon in '69 either. I do know they didn't make the 305 engine in 1969 - it came out in 1976. The car you are referring to must have had a 307 and someone could have stuck Nomad badges on it I guess. I can't find anything on such a car ever being built and as I turned 21 in '69 I was definitely studying the new cars, even wagons, and don't ever remember seeing one like that. If the car did exist, it must have been 1 of 1.

1961 I think was the last year of the Nomad and those were 4 doors. The 2 door Nomads were only 55,56 and 57.

I think the sedan delivery or window delivery, was discontinued after the 1960 model year. I've looked through my materials (including truck) and find nothing on a 2 door wagon for 1969 nor do I remember any. Sedan deliveries were considered trucks so you may want to look for information in that area.

I know some of the guys on the chevytalk site are into Nomads and Sedan Deliveries and you may want to look there also.

Best of luck finding what you need.

In 1969 the Nomad Custom was not offered and the Greenbrier was added to the line up. The Greenbrier became the mid-range model. It did not get the deluxe interior and frills like the higher end wagons. The Malibu wagon was dropped and filling it's place was the Concours, because now the Concours Estate wagon was added and became the top model and only available with an 8 cylinder. It was dressed in wood grain siding. The Concours and Concours Estate models were only offered with either a rear storage compartment or third, rear facing, rear seat.

Two-door Nomad wagons are the real deal in '68. They were on the A-body (Chevelle) body. My older brother had one in 1973, and they are indeed called Nomads. It was not the luxury '55-'57-style, of course, but a Nomad, just the same.

Thanks Patrick, I guess I had the wrong year, but I knew it was a 2dr Nomad wagon. Anyway I am now watching Horsepower TV on the spike channel and there is a 2 dr chevelle wagon with the slanted B pillar that denoted the Nomad series, they are doing a cam swap in the 327 engine. Guess I am not as crazy as I thought.

'68 Nomads as built by Chevy were all 4-doors.

1968 and 1969 Wagons are very similar, as you can see in the examples below. During the years of 68 and 69, Chevelle wagons were only available in 4 door versions. They could be ordered with just about any option a person could desire. In 68 the wagon along with it's cousin Chevelle, received a body design change.

Nomad - model 131358 - 6 cylinder - 6,340 produced.

Nomad - model 132358 - 8 cylinder - 4,930 produced.

Nomad Custom - model 133358 - 6 cylinder - 2,830 produced.

Nomad Custom - model 134358 - 8 cylinder - 7,420 produced.

Nomad Custom, w/ 3rd seat - model 1334458 - 6 cylinder - 0 produced.

Nomad Custom, w/ 3rd seat - model 134458 - 8 cylinder - 753 produced.

(No two doors)

Not trying to a pain, but these are the facts. Sorry.

If there was a two door, I would love to see it and there is no way of knowing the value. It would have to have been a one off and never produced for the public.

Mike is right. 4 doors only for the Nomad of later years.

Old Car Price guide shows 1969 Chevelle 300 Deluxe with a 4 Dr. and 1970 Chevelle with the same. Of course the 69 lists two of them. 1. 4dr. Nomad, 2. 4 dr. dual nomad. I don't know what the 2nd one is referring to.

I was at the World of Wheels last weekend and saw this one though. I have also seen this at a local weekly cruise night. The picture doesn't really do it justice.

That's a nice duece wagon. It was here last year at World of Wheels. There is a red 65 Chevy II wagon around here some where that was changed to a 2 door. Guy did a real nice job. If you didn't know them, you would have thought it was factory.

Tell that to my brother, who HAD one.

Did he live in Kenosha, perchance? :D

Perhaps you have a picture of this car, or another example of same.

I didn't know Greenbrier was used for anything else besides the Corvair mini-van...I just learned something new.
