small block 400

Hi I am in the process of purchasing a small block 400 engine in excellent running condition for my resto street rod {49 Hudson coupe} and was wondering what you chevy guys opinions are on the engine. Its a low mileage engine coming out of a corvette that the owner doesn't want cause its not the correct engine for the car. Comes with chrome valve covers, chrome air cleaner, K&N filter and 4 barrel carb. Are they reliable and are there any problems with these engines. Thanks...Jim

Jim, nothing wrong with a 400. It's probably been gone thru since it was put in the Vette and would make a good engine. Hard to say whats been done as far as modifications.
