"Custom built by Don Dowdy from Bosie, Idaho. 1937 Hudson Terraplane pick up custom leather interior by Gabes. This truck has won 35 ISCA shows across the country and been featured in Truckin, Car Craft, Hot Rod, Hot Truck magazine. This truck is by far 1 of the best custom hot rod trucks in the country today. The cost to build this truck was over $300,000.".

I watched yesterday afternoon, just to see this one go. Was very disappointed that they chose 'that time' to go to commercial announcements - ended up only seeing it roll off the stage.

Sold for $175,000. Final cost with Barrett's cut = $189,000.
Don't forget the seller's premium (8%, from 'both' sides), which makes Barrett's cut a total of $28K on this sale...

A mystery here... Look below, at the engine (second photo) - Where did the intake that is protruding through the hood go?

This picture of the engine does not appear to 'fit' with the truck. Take a look a the intake coming out of the hood (above) - Where is it in the picture of the engine?

The engine in the second picture is a Ford Y-Block v8 and looks like it is in a full size Ford passenger car, not the Hudson truck. (bet its out of the 60 StarLinner parked next to the truck)
I was also disapointed that this one was not shown until it was over.

The intake led to Barrett-Jackson's bank account, and was disconnected shortly after the auction.

This truck was for sale locally in the Seattle area last year for about 125k less than what it sold for!

I'm sure there was a post on the forum back then - I had offered to go look at the truck if anyone was interested - but darn if I can find it...

The motor picture is out of the Starliner. I saw it in on of my Rod and Custom magazines.

If so, it is not the same truck. The one in the previous thread was a 1947.

The engine compartment is definitely out of an late '50s- early '60s Ford. My '37 Terraplane does not remotely have that much room!!! I was very disappointed to see only the taillights of the truck on TV. The commentators chatter incessantly about the Chevys and little else.
