Just thought that I would say Hello

This is the first forum that I have ever joined. I have been looking for that special classic car that I want to restore (My Dads first car). It is a 1966 chevy impala ss w/396. His was yellow with a black vinal interior. If anybody has any tips or suggestions on how to find one or where to look I would appreciate it. I have been looking for 2 months but all I can find are already restored cars that cost a fortune. I'm just looking for something to tinker around with in my spare time.

You didn't mention where you were looking. Have you tried Ebay? Hemmings Motor News? Cars & Parts? Old Cars Weekly?

Since you are intent on a specific make and model, it probably wouldn't hurt to join a club devoted to that car. In the pages of the club's newsletter, you may discover an ad for just what you seek. I'm sure there is at least one club devoted to Chevrolets.

Sorry I'm from southwest Missouri. I have checked Ebay periodically but have only found parts and such. I have looked into the car clubs around here but they all seem a little snooty. Thanks for your help so far!!

There is a dealer in old cars called Hillbilly Hot Rods and he is located somewhere in the SoMo area. You might check the Old Skool Rodz website and find some info. Keep lookin' they are out there.
