I was reading one of the threads about k-gap and you were saying that they are going on line soon? is it right? a guy(dave) made a commenton ebay that they sell repro running board material. Iam watching some on ebay at the moment but Iam worried it might be to brittle as it has never been folded over

You don't list the auction/auction number - hard to tell if they would be brittle or not. If they are original - most likely they will be brittle, no matter how well they were/are stored.

According to what I have heard & read, K-Gap will soon be online - What form and how it will operate I don't know. Guess we'll all find out together, I am anticipating this myself.:D

And, yes, K-Gap does sell "Running Board Mat" kits. These are not 'full'/'complete' running boards, just the rubber covers for them. Depending upon the year/model of your vehicle, the price is anywhere from $80-$300 + shipping.

Took a look -

From the photos, it appears that they were not stored 'well', at least at some point - there are indications of dirt/dust, and what appears to be water spotting... While rubber matting of this type is plyable for quite some period of time, I still would have serious doubts about them.
Hudson made these type of replacement pieces for quite some time, but they must be at least 50 years old by now - at a minimum.

BTW: K-Gap apparently does produce these, in three different sizes - and lists them as "original design detail"... Prices are $225-250 + S/H, depending on length (K-Gap Catalog Part No. 429, 430 or 433).
