Personally, I think that is one of the most desirable cars I have ever seen on eBay. Completely unmolested and that's the way I would like to find one. Is it worth that much? I don't know. If I had already sold the house I'm trying to sell, I would have bid on it but I don't know if I would have gone that high, at least not without looking at it. But that is one fine car.

Having watched this seller before I am guessing he wanted around 35-40K Another member said he saw the car for sale by owner for 28K so if this dealer bought around that he would have wanted a good profit. Lots of people speculating on Hudsons right now.

Even I am, I have a rebuild kit for a Carter 990S which I should be selling at $10 but I am asking $900 because its in the original package LOL

In the 80's a lot of speculators lost their shirts. Personally I don't like to see a lot of speculators in the hobby who are not really car folks. It should be about keeping these fine automobiles on the road and helping eachother out to do so. It kinda annoys me when some "civilian" asks me what my old car is worth. Of course Hudson prices have not traditionally kept up with those of Big 3 makes of old cars in part because no one wanted to deal with finding parts for orphan cars. Perhaps the increase is due ...on the other hand more power to em if they can get those prices I guess.

I want the craziness that is probably just around the corner for Hudson to hold off until I can get the 10 Hudsons I want. Then I will be happy. You tell a real Hudnut they talk to their car LOL I am out in the garage explaining to my Hudson what I am going to be doing today to fix her. My wife sees this and thinks I finally went over the edge. I just smile and so does my Hudson. When the cars movie comes out she will realize that Hudsons are people too.....have to lie down now my medication is wearing off....

Wrong thread. I was actually talking about the Hornet sedan. One time I parked the Super Wasp outside the liquor store while I went and got some beer. When I came out there was an elderly fellow walking all around it and he said, "I couldn't afford one then and I can't afford one now". I have always said that I wished they attracted young women like they attract old men. If they did, it might be worth $$$$$$ for one?

I know what you mean about a real hudnut sometimes I'll just sit in the garage and stare at my Hudson or sit in it imagining driving it. LOL

I keep imagining myself driving my Terraplane, but honestly, I've lost my enthusiasm for this car. It's quite nice and nearly done, but with all of the problems I've had over the past year and a half just trying to find a competent upholstery shop that will actually perform real upholstery work and quit making excuses why they can't, well, that just sucks the fun out of things.

Next Hudson (or whatever else!) I buy, it's going to be a complete and done car, either original or restored. My son's '71 Dodge truck is the last truck or car I'm building. I'm sick of painters, upholsterers, chrome and powder-coating shops, and others that do nothing but jerk you around and don't seem to want to work...maybe they're independently wealthy and don't need to work, who knows?

Patrick I understand your pain. It pays to ask around a lot who does, good decent and reasonably priced work. Networking like that often involves going out of state though. Not sure how much of that you want to do.

You know, the sad part is two of the people that have said they'd do various work on this car have been HET chapter members!!! That's yet another reason why I'd like to sell the car. One had the car for two months and did zip, and the other backed out at the last minute, after she said SIX months before she'd be able to do it at a certain date. Very unimpressed. Chapter events aren't the same as they once were.
