These should not be particularly hard to find, used. Have you tried writing or e-mailing some of the advertisers in the WTN?
Also check Ebay, and Hemmings Motor News http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/partsforsale/hudson/ .
Reproduction skirts are sold by Big Jim's in Texas, http://www.bigjims.net/othersk.htm . However, I do not know the quality of these, and they are much more expensive than buying authentic used skirts.

I think you indicated (from an earlier post) that you were in Germany. Did you see the message http://www.classiccar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6035 ? This fellow says he has 'two removable side mudguards' for sale, and his e-mail address suggests a Netherlands location.
I think 1950 fender skirts should fit a 1953 (with perhaps some different trim moldings?).

If you are an eBayer... you can start your bidding for what appear to be an excellent set of stepdown mudguards that will fit your car ...

The seller says USA shippments... but possibly you have US friend who will bid and buy these and ship them to you?

I have fender skirts in excellent condition to fit your car. Not sure about the stainless, as I believe they are from a Hornet, but would fit easily. I am not using them ... if you're interested email me. No sweat packing and shipping them. Make a reasonable offer and I'd be happy to ship them off to you.
