Saw this - Sounds ok, but be careful, read the description - you may be buying an expensive display piece/doorstop. Four of the eight sparkplug openings have been repaired.
I'm not sure if this extent of repairs is normal for this item or not...

CAUTION ADVISED!!

The swirl marks evident in the mating surface of the head are from some sort of rotary hand tool. No proper head milling would leave such random marks in the surface. If this head is indeed "fresh from the machine shop" someone has destroyed the evidence of that claim be going at the head with a wire brush chucked into an electric drill or some other such nonsense.
Unless it can be verified that the head is useable, consider it a display piece - a pretty expensive one at the price asked. Just my $.02

I had my eye on this when it was listed last month. It sold for $154 and change. Far more than I would have paid for it. I think it's a disaster. I've included the link to the Aug sale of this head. You'll see by the description that it was pried off of the last engine that it sat on. ("deep scratches...etc") I assumed that it was even possibly bowed. I'm certainly aware that a head can be planed a few times, but this one'd been milled 0.0025" and who know what state it's really in. I'm thinking that the current seller saw a chance to make a fast dollar and never intended to use this head. If you look at both pictures, the one that shows the far away of the underside, it does look suspicious, but the other closer underside picture shows what would be the correct milling pattern, or at least what every head I ever got back from the machine shop looked like.

But still I think your caution statement should be taken Very seriously.

I too was interested in this head when initially seen, However, after emailing the owner and getting very shaddy answers not to mention his unwillingness to answer basic questions on the head, ie; he says he milled it but never magnafluxed it, nor presure tested it for leaks! If one is doing it right, they would do these first then mill it. Looks like another individual taking advantage of the Hudson crowd.

I would steer VERY clear of this one and this SELLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
