How do you tell? Old Chevy Panel

Hey there, found an old panel the other day, I'm pretty sure it's a chev probably between a 39 and a 46...How do you tell without the front end present? Some farmer took off the front fenders and such and cut the frame to be used as a trailer...Some people shouldn't be allowed near tools:mad: Anyway, I found this the same day I found two cherry 30 Essex's, a 38 Plymouth 2door sedan and about 5 other interesting peices of gold...all free by the way...Who says Canada isn't Gods country:cool: Later all.

According to the Standard Catalog of American Trucks it says that a plate should be on the cowl. It should have much information for you.
