Hello all. Need some help fining out where to get parts and info for my 55 Chevy. Don’t know awhole lot about it. It’s a two door post, says BelAir inside and came from the factory with a V8 and an auto trans as far as I can tell. I got the car a few years ago from my mother. My father gave it to her when she turned 18. The car is pretty much set up to go quarter mile, and still is today. Its got a 350 mated to a four manual speed and has posi in the rear.

Even though it was set up for the track its all street legal and hasn’t been molested like most track cars I’ve seen. Its in pretty decent shape, and will start if I wanted it to. It hasn’t been on the road in over 15 years. I’m not to sure what I wanta do with the car yet. Don’t know if I want to restore it, or make it a turn key drive when ever I want rice eating street queen.

A buddy of mine has a 57 that hes been working on for a few years. He just stuffed a LS2 and a T56 in it and its now all most ready for paint. This is probably what I will end up doing. Some thing EFI that I wont have to mess with, some thing I can walk out on a Sunday morning and have it start right up with out having to fiddle with any damn tri-power set up.

Being 21 years old, this seems like a fun project for me to jump into. I’m more into Jeeps and offroading and such, but I’d like to have a nice car I can be proud of as well. Some thing I can say “Ya I did that”. Any info on how the car should look like, and how it could look like would be awesome. Stuff like color codes, mods people have done to theirs, etc etc.

This all comes mostly from a push from my wife whos been looking at the car take up garage space for the past four years. Says I need to do some thing with it or get rid of it. Since I don’t wanta sell it, this is what I have decided to do.

Thanks for your help,
Ross
